Building Context

Technology is at the forefront of how we share and perceive news in the media. News bleeds into our lives through blog posts, Youtube videos, status updates, tweets, text messages, etc. With technology at our disposal, we have almost instant access to information and the resources to evaluate the validity of that information.

To give you perspective on the intent and direction of the posts contained within this blog, Now & Then in Yemen is my response to a class assignment. I am attending a four-year liberal arts college in America and pursuing an interactive media design major. One of my courses, which focuses on technology and its impact in the news, asked me to utilize technology to record the current events of a country in the Middle East. I have chosen to analyze Yemen and provide an overview of the recent election along with updates on the country and its citizens as time progresses.
